Odd.

One thing is making pizza in your restaurant for customers and other thing is making it for competition.

Making good Italian pizza in US takes lot of work, stuff training, experience, real Italian ingredients,il forno ....

To do all this requires a lot of money and time and then pizza would cost at least 25$.

And all that for what?

You will have average American guy saying : meh, 25$ for pizza, I would get better deal at papa Johns or Pizza Rock...

Don't forget one thing, only 50% of Italian Pizza places in LV are owned by Italians, and even then they don't try to make their food to taste like real Italian.
Reason: Why they should make all that effort to make it real Italian if American customers are not used to it?

Have you noticed the ice cream sizes are getting smaller. Used to be 1/2 gallon was standard, then Ben and Jerrys with their personal size came out, then the companies started to get smaller 1 3/4 quarts, 1 1/2 quarts..etc...I saw a 3/4 gallon of milk the other day....

..and frozen pizza is doing the same thing....and with take out pizza, you cant tell if they cut down the size of the pizza box by an inch,,
Dominos large pizza looks like a small pizza from an independent pizza restaurant.
Just remember the Subway scandal where they were actually giving 11 inch sandwiches when they advertised a foot long (12").

Hogwash...'Real Italian pizza' is no harder to make any other handmade pizza. Why would training take any longer than any other style?

Specific ingredients, maybe a specific style of tossing the dough...Sounds like all pizza parlors that make handmade pizzas.

I don't buy the "Italian pizza is so much more difficult." I also don't buy that "real Italians throw up when they eat American pizza."

I understand they might use a specific kind of tomatoes, cheese, etc..But real Italian pizza actually seems kinda simple.

You obviously didn't read it. It's not that simple.
