After reading various reviews and whatnot, I discovered that Mandalay Bay offers free alcohol with their buffet. Bellagio offers alcohol for like 13$ more. Is this information accurate and current.?

Default Alright...

I looked, I'm not seeing anything obvious. I see a lot of articles in the Food/Dining section, but nothing like a restaurant guide.

On Fridays, the RJ has a NEON section that lists that time and $ of every buffet.

I wanted to write because the Sterling Brunch at Bally's was mentioned. Actually, it is priced at $90 but with your players card, it's reduce to $85. It's pretty much reservation only and when making them, you are given the dress code requirements. No cut offs, tank tops, advertising t-shirts, flip flops, etc. As we were waiting to get in, some tourists dressed as above were rejected.

I am a real foodie and this buffet is the only thing in town that is fantastic. When you are seated, you are given a white gloved waiter who constantly tops off your Moet champagne. You are told you can begin by ordering off a menu which contains caviar and blini, lobster bisque and a few other items I didn't retain. There is not a single salad item on the buffet. Instead it contains oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail, halibut, crab legs, 8 oz. cold water lobster tails, cooked to order filet mignons, prime rib, rack of lamb and some sushi. It might seem like a great deal of money but my friends and I (I am a female, size 2) noted that we ate and drank for 1.5 hours and I consumed five 8 oz. lobster tails, a slice of beautiful prime rib, one cooked to order rare filet, a bowl of lobster bisque, one delicious popover, a slice of lamb, 3 creme brulee's and various champagne refills. When we put the pencil to our consumption, it would have cost over $185 had we ordered what we ate off a menu. We made it a goal that we would have brunch here at least once every year. P.S. Upon getting weighed once home, I was 3.5 lbs. heavier.

I personally have been to the Bacchanal Buffet and found it so poorly done and lacking in quality and selection that for the first time in my life, I took the time to write to the manager of a restaurant. My letter was kept very professional and businesslike yet he/she never even bothered to respond. As I write this today, I'm wondering if the woman making the crepes in the dessert line has mastered crepery yet. Waited for I don't know how long as she tried in vain to pour one not too thick, then not too thin, then to cook it without coming apart, then cook one without burning it up. As far as the main course buffet, it featured the typical prime rib, leg of lamb and shrimp cocktail, (can be purchased at any casino buffet for $24 p/p)all arranged poorly so you had to reach thru other foods to get to them and a few other rumdum salads and veggies. Caesars price was an overly inflated $40 p/p.

Getting back to the OP's topic, Bellagio is the best of the MGM bunch by far and is worth a BOGO over Main Street Station. Yes, there are other more wonderful choices in town but budget appears to rank high on the OP's priority list so here is a more relevant data point for him.

I am so looking forward to calling in sick at my job so I can go back to Sterling.

Frankly, if you're going to spend $20, or $30, or $50 on a buffet, why not spend $85 and buy a buffet that is truly excellent? In for a penny, in for a pound. What is the point of spending $39.95 on a bunch of crap?

"I got good news and bad news. The bad news is that the only thing we got to eat is [excrement.] The good news is it's all you can eat." Thanks but no thanks. I'll go to Sterling.
