Hi all,

I'll be visiting Vegas soon and staying at the Mirage for a Saturday to a Wednesday.

Having never been, what advice do you guys have for me when it comes to Vegas? I'm not really planning much and kinda just going and playing it by ear. What things should I be aware of? What exactly does the Mirage offer that I should take advantage of? Any best kept secrets?

I appreciate the advice.

22 and male, and I'm fine with anything although I don't plan on experimenting much with the casino scene. I'm mostly just looking to relax and have simple fun.

Don't worry, just being on the Strip the fun will seek you. You'll never see it all, so just enjoy whatever is in front of you just like you would do if your were going to the beach for the first time.

Buzz is correct. That being said, check out The Cosmopolitan. Even the parking garage there is cool and since the property was just sold, it may change. They have a "hidden" pizza parlor there that's supposed to be really good.

The Mirage is, of course, a beautiful property on it's own, so you'll have much to explore there.

It's going to be very hot, so stop at the Walgreens on the strip and buy yourself some bottled water to avoid the ridiculous prices at the casinos. Oh, and don't buy water from street vendors. Those are unlicensed peddlers and I've heard of bottles being re-used.

I went to Vegas last year with a bridal party of 10 total (5 women, 5 men). We had a blast - even without gambling.

1) Sapphire Beach Party- it is a gentleman's club so you will see a ton of women with nothing but pasties and bottoms on. They will be trying to hustle you for private dances (obviously...), but the pool scene was a LOT of fun! The men and women enjoyed it and we are all early 20s. They have a volleyball net, music blasting, and private cabanas if you want more privacy (and have a lot of moolah).

2) TAO Beach Club- this is a little more 'stuck up, nose in the air, prance around to look cute' type of pool party. Not as much fun at Sapphire, however, the venue is SO nice! You actually have to enter through the Venetian Resort. P.s. The Venetian Resort is really cute in itself. There's a few gondolas you can ride around in and plenty of shops inside as well.

3) Olympic Gardens- Strip club for men on the first floor- and strip club for the ladies on the second floor. Magic Mike anyone?? I'm pretty sure they have a limo that's pretty cheap and will pick you up from the hotel and take you back. Something to look into if you are planning to take a cab anyway...

4) 1OAK (1 of a kind)- really fun nightlife scene. We have one here in NYC, but the Las Vegas one takes the cake. Their bottle servers holding champagne get brought out in little toy cars held by strong macho men. How cool is that??

5) MiXX- If you are looking to treat yourself for a nice dinner while there ... and you SHOULD, I recommend a place called MiXX. It's on the 64th floor of Mandelay Bay, so needless to say but the views are incredible. Oh, and did I mention the food?? DELICIOUS!! We went here the night before the vow renewal celebration. Also, in Mandelay Bay is an Ice Bar, which we want to go to but ran out of time unfortunately with the wedding/ vow renewal celebration festivities. It looked like a lot of fun though and something different. Definitely cool for pics. On TripAdvisor, you can read the reviews but it is under 'Mix Lounge' although I'm pretty sure it has two Xs but anyway...

6) Bellagio Water show- it's not very long, but you could go and watch the water rise and fall to the beat of the music playing. It also lights up in color. Kind of neat, but not something you need to do for more than lik 15 minutes

Something I want to add to the list, but did not technically go to was Encore Beach Club- at Wynn Las Vegas. I heard it is the BEST beach party in Las Vegas and the Instagram pics I've seen prove it lol Unfortunately we ran out of time :/

Some things to watch out for- PROMOTERS ON THE PROWL!! I am already used to this because they are everywhere in NYC but not like they are in Vegas. Up your behind 24/7. Saying they'll give you the 'hook up.' Reality is: men have to pay anyway, so for them to hook you up with discounted tickets, you will have to 'tip' them for their service. And they will want around $10-$20, which is what the discounted tickets may save you so as a woman I would say let the promoter hook you up, but as a man I'm not so sure it's worthwhile.

That is based on my experience last year. The remainder of our time was at casinos, eating (In N Out burger!), staying in the hotel/resort, Las Vegas wedding chapel ha

HAVE FUN and bring lots of cash for unexpected cab rides, strippers, etc.

Oh- I knew I was forgetting one!

The second night there we partied at Pure Nightclub at Caesars Palace. I just looked up the site though and it looks like it is being remodeled and will re-open early 2015 so guess that's out if you plan on going before then...

I second buying water al Walgreens. You can usually get a gallon jug for like $1. Buy one regualr water bottle to refill and you save a ton of money.

Stuff on the strip is HUGE and it looks closer than it is. It is a lot farther of a walk than you think! It is easy to say "Oh. The Flamingo is just across the street!"

I love to wander around Caesars and the Forum Shops or the shops inside the Venitian, both near The Mirage. You should probably also see the volcano erupt since you have never been. Also, the water show at the Bellagio once in the daylight and once at night.

Try any of the gunnery ranges and a DigThis, an adult construction playground if you ever dreamed of controlling heavy machinery.

Get a tram pass and move up and down the strip. If your a sports fan go check out what used to be the Las Vegas Hilton. They just did a name change so I really don't know the new name but they are on the tram going north. That way when you visit again if your a football fan come during football season and hang out there.

As mentioned get ready for some heat. Once you check in make sure you get a club card for your hotel. They are free and you might get some discounts and of course see if the have a app. What you may want to do is get the card first and then check in they may give you a discount at check in. I have seen it happen at Sam's town casino.

Anyway have a good time and remember in Vegas on vacation you can be anyone at anytime. Just stay safe and strap up if the situation comes up. One more thing download the groupon app also for eating ideas. There is a twin peaks on the strip I think it's on the corner of Harmon and LV blvd. Find planet Hollywood and your there.

Just remember if your by yourself and have a few drinks be careful. The hardest part about Vegas is getting used to being able to do something 24/7.
