I was forced into meeting people at the Rio buffet the other day...the guy who said locals only get 25% off now was correct. No longer a bargain.

I love Sumo Sushi II. Have you tried them yet?

No disrespect to those people who like Golden Corral but I would not go into one of those restaurants or Dennys or Waffle House etc if you gave me the meal free. These places are notorious for high turnover of staff including management and I just dont trust the preparation or the handling of the food. In fact I have stopped going to many of the national chain places after a conversation I had with a state inspector some years ago.

I just had diner at Bachannal last night... I wasn't that impressed.
was it the best buffet in Las Vegas, probably so... was it the most expensive buffet in Las Vegas, absolutely... was it worth the $50 price, I am not so sure about that.

they did do a couple really exemplary things for me though, I ordered chocolate milk and the waitress said she didn't think they had it but she told me she would check one more place... a couple minutes later she came back with what was obviously freshly made chocolate in milk, that is going above and beyond.

one other thing is, I went with a group so they had pushed some tables together for us and this left a gap between us and the next set of tables... people started to cut thru that gap and after about 10-15 people doing that it got to be very annoying. I went to go get my next plate and when I came back the waitress had pushed another table into that gap so no one could cut thru it. I call that very observant!

Bacchanal isn't the most expensive buffet in town. Sterling is double the price.

Yes they (sterling) did close...they went downhill a bit...things haven't been perfect there for a while...service is always great though.

For sushi I haven't tried sumo sushi II yet, my favorite used to be sushi house goyemon on Hacienda and decatur...my new spot is Naka Sushi on W. Lake Mead and Rampart...

Sterling will be open again later this year after the steakhouse is finished with the remodel.

That's close to my place down there. I'll give it a try next time I'm down there.

I don't think you would disappointed if you try Sumo.
