I've thought about applying at some of the casinos in Laughlin to get a certain type of job experience. Do any of them consider applicants that live in Vegas but still commute? I understand that it's a drive. The job I'm going for would be part-time, and probably just on the weekends. I would consider staying in a hotel if offered a job.

Why would you do that? Do you have a lease here in Vegas that you can't break?

You must be getting paid a ton to tolerate the commute (100 miles each way/ 1.5 hours driving each way). Not worth it unless it's a very specialized gig that you couldn't get in Vegas for some reason; if it is a specialized job then I'm sure they would consider you, otherwise (if it's some regular job) they'll probably hire someone from Laughlin or Kingman, Arizona (across the river).

Wondering how much you would be getting paid for this job as it will only be part time and on the weekends only and on top of that you would consider staying in a hotel.. Hell that would probably cost more to drive to and from and a hotel room than you would get paid...

Actually, even Kingman is a bit of a commute from Laughlin. Bullhead City, Az. is the town just across the river. Back in the early eighties, there were no residences in Laughlin, so everybody who worked there lived in Bullhead.

It's not hard to confuse one little desert town from another. They all look the same until you get closer to the metro areas. At least BHC has a river.

Thanks for your responses. It would be a cocktail server position. Why Laughlin you ask? Well I haven't had luck getting that kind of job in Vegas due to my lack of cocktail serving experience. Though it might sound crazy, I'm willing to look elsewhere in order to get the experience. I actually had an interview at the Golden Nugget in Laughlin last night. The manager told me that some of this employees live in Henderson or Boulder City and commute.
