I'm not in the mood to stand in line at Marie Calendars. What grocery store do you think has the best pies?

Normally my husband makes them, but not this year.

I wouldn't eat any of them. Nor Marie Calander's. Buy a roll out crust, a can of pumpkin pie mix, add more cinnamon then it contains and bake. You'll have something delicious and something you are proud of. I think most of the store bought versions taste like brown vasoline thrown into a plaster of paris crust.

I think we get 8 or 9 free pies from the various casinos, but their pies haven't been very good so far. Not a fan of pumpkin, but we're going to drop them off at the shelters around town. But I would recommend either Coco's (multiple locations) or Du-Pars (inside Golden Gate on Fremont) for pies if you're going to buy one.

silly idea, why not hit your local mom & pop shop for a pie? i'm sure if given enough advance notice, they'd be happy to make you something. granted, pahrump has more of them than vegas but the one i bought from our favorite place is heavenly

if not, i've always enjoyed nothing bundt cakes Home of the Most Delicious Bundt Cakes Ever | Nothing Bundt Cakes OR Pies Unlimited Las Vegas Nevada, We Specialize in Pies i've never tried the pies unlimited but it can't hurt to try

I agree with jjameson. Pumpkin pie is just too easy -- why settle for a grocery store pie? Can of pie mix, more allspice, nutmeg, ginger, cloves and cinnamon. Frozen pie crust. Bake and done.

I'm Mr. "From Scratch" and I still use canned pumpkin pie filling. It's one of those rare things that is almost as good as "from scratch" and a gigantic time saver.

+1. Their pies are great, INCLUDING their pumpkin pie.

Like Scoop, I like making things from scratch when I can, but there's no reason to with Costco's pumpkin pie. It's huge (easily serves 8-12 people), tastes great & costs all of $5.99. Most crummy, small, frozen pies at the grocery store cost that much or more. The freebies from the casinos just don't cut it - great idea, Raiderman, any extras I have will go to a shelter.

I'm not a huge pumpkin pie person, but I guarantee when the holidays roll around I'll be dropping my $6 at Costco for an awesome pumpkin pie & I'll still probably have to share the leftovers with friends.
