Cici's is probably just as good - and cheaper.

And the buffet at Boulder Station is just fine and sometimes cheaper, especially if you use your club card.
Its very similar to Boulder or Palace Station. Once again its not going to blow people away. When it settles down you will find its customers to mostly be larger families, especially Hispanic, and retired folks. Just like most cheaper buffets. It only makes sense from a convenience standpoint. No one should drive across town for it, but those who don't want to deal with a casino or live close by will be the normal patrons.

The advertising built demand nationally, including Vegas. When they opened, they had a ready customer base. It will be interesting to see how it holds up over time, especially in Vegas (having all the casino buffets as competition.)

For an example of this, look at the In-and-Out on Trop near the strip. Packed every. single. day. I mean literally bus loads of people trucked in, lunch time can be an hour wait to just get to the counter. People staying on the strip just have to try it since they don't have it back home. Funny thing is, the Maryland Pkwy and W. Sahara locations never see this kind of traffic.

Has anyone nearby heard if they sent out coupons? If they targeted the market close by and mailed/hung coupons then it would explain the big crowds at opening.

I heard on the news another location of Golden Corral was coming to the Northwest part of town, where exactly I don't know.
I read somewhere on North Decatur.

A recent Yelp reviewer indicates the locals deal has been lowered from 50% to 25% off.

Are you sure it wasn't the Rio Seafood that is 25% off...I went looking for the yelp review on the rio carnival being dropped to 25% off from 50% but couldn't find it, do you have a link?
