I found 2 bark scorpions yesterday in my house. The most venomous scorpion in North America. They seem to be spreading throughout the Las Vegas Valley. The anti-venom for this scorpion apparently costs over $80,000.

Anyone have any tips on how to get rid of them? Has anyone here ever been stung by one?

I was under the impression that most victims of the bark scorpion do quite well and do not need anti venom. I believe the problem arises if one is allergic and then will require an ER visit. I also believe the brown recluse spider is more toxic than the bark scorpion. I would invest in a black light and sweep the house nightly until the are gone also check your shoes before you slide your foot in.

Yes, and in a lot of areas in and around Mountains Edge

I was sitting in the bathroom last night and one came strolling in under the door, tail sticking up and ready to strike! I jumped up and stepped on him.
In the 8 years we have been in our house, I have counted at least 80 by now, most have been outside.

I was stung by one in the kitchen last year on my foot and was lucky enough to not have a bad reaction but my foot did tingle all night and the next day I couldnt walk on it.

We use the Bug Bully also but scorpions are hard to get rid of. All of my neighbors have pest control service and they all have scorpions. Dont walk around the house barefoot, be observant and you wont have a problem.
Dont leave shoes or clothes laying on the floor and dont leave beds un-made all day. If using the restroom in the middle of the night, turn the light on and look around. Our neighbor was stung on the finger last week, she was flushing the toilet and he was sitting on the handle waiting for her.

We have been lucky that so far we haven't seen so much as a spider. We're in Green Valley, but I've read that one house may be infested, and the house next door will never see one. Hopefully our string of luck continues. Ants on the other hand.. yeah, we've got those, but no longer inside, only on the backyard wall.

If I found 80 scorpions during any period of time I would move.

From what I gathered most adults should be able to recover on their own but I have heard many describe it as unbearable excruciating pain for days. Children and elderly are supposedly high risk if they are stung. I am yet to find out what it's like to get stung and would like to keep it that way.
