I am heading out to Las Vegas for a wedding next week. I need to rent a car for a couple of hours to pick up a tux in Henderson and Google maps pegs the trip at roughly 11 miles one way.

Looking for an agency that does car rentals by the hour that one could recommend.

Trying to price it out to see if it's cheaper to rent the car as opposed to taking a taxi out there, having it wait while I try the thing on one last time to make sure everything is right and then take me back to my hotel.

EZ Rental...From Sep 27 and return next day would be $40 total (That would include taxes and fees). That would be by reserving through carrentalsavers.com You may find it handy to have the car for a day and night and for the next morning.

I haven't heard of rental by the hour places here in LV except for maybe the exotic cars. You can probably drive a Viper there for a few hours. I'm sure a cab would be cheaper.

Also, you could consider the bus. $5.00 for a 24 hour pass. Sure might take a bit, but you can google map your destination via bus route and it gives you all the info.

I've seen motel rooms here advertised by the hour but not rental cars.

don't waste your time with a cab..... how long are you in town for... just rent the car for the whole period... somethings you can get really cheap... my best was $9 through fox per day.

Unless you take my cab, then it won't be a waste of time. :P

Zipcar is in Vegas but reportedly has very few cars. Even a 3 hour rental would be nearly the same price as one full day.

Look at carrentals.com a few days before your trip. Few weeks ago I needed a car for a few hours to take newcomers to the Hoover Dam and got an Altima for $25 for a day. It came in handy because they wanted to shop the outlets (north, south and Primm) so it worked out.

Daily rate for a car will be very affordable. Even if you say you need it for 3 hrs, having a car in Vegas will probably come in handy then taking cabs/bus especially if you have to go off the strip (good luck getting a cab off the strip by the way).
