You'll find some hotels like this just off the Expressway near a hospital. Probably better deals then certain weekends on the Strip, but then I never stay in Las Vegas - I live here. But they have easy access to the freeway and both downtown, and The Strip, are just minutes away. North of there about five minutes is the Santa Fe, Texas Station, and The Fiesta. There are others, but this will give you an idea of where to look.

I checked those two for Fri-Mon stay and they both have rooms under $100. But you should hurry.

The Sienna Suites on Boulder Hwy are nice and 294 for an entire week, for a 1 bedroom. Less for a studio. It's not on the strip but it's fairly close.
IF you can't find anything else.

Everybody knows the Primm trick. Those hotels fill up pretty fast. You might have better luck in Mesquite or Laughlin, neither of which is close.
Mesquite is, at minimum, 65 minutes door to door to Vegas.

However, not in this case for the following reasons:

1) If the rates are very high, inventory is minimal and the prices will be high on those sites.

2) The zones in Las Vegas are drawn in a manner to appear that you will get a Strip hotel but you very well could be on a property in an undesirable area west of the Strip.

3) The resort fees can eat you alive. You bid an amount just to find out that you will be paying an additional $25-35 a night (i.e., Trump Plaza).

Priceline has Sam's Town for 97.00 a night.

Try Hotel Tonight only available on smart phones as an app. You can get rooms after 1200pm same day also on the top of the screen you can add additional days sometimes and get a 3 or 4 day trip. Prices are shown with taxes underneath. Some you still have to pay the resort fee. Prices were better than many of the websites. For example tonight Mon 9th Palms $49, Bally's $37, Caesars Palace $76, Sunset Station $25, Planet Hollywood $54
