I love the information this site provides and the community that provides it. It seems many others are now coming here with the same inquiries, questing for the knowledge necessary to come here without making rookie mistakes in a relatively unforgiving town.

Now, everyone has their own unique requests about specific neighborhoods, eateries, casinos, job opportunities, etc., but since everyone is unique just like everyone else it might help to have a few more threads dedicated to useful newcomer info. Then have them stickied up top so that those who are search challenged can do a one stop shop before plunging headfirst into yet another thread asking about zip codes, safe neighborhoods, how hard it is to land that sweet craps table/waitress job.

I'm sure the vets here like olecapt, pinkstring, dynimagelv, all the moms and other concerned citizens (plus newcomers like cjski21 and myself) can collectively pull this off so we can get back to the real topics of finding me the coolest and cheapest places to go with my pretty gal.

Any takers?

The concept of having stickies in forums is a good one, redwhale. The problem is that the Administrator here at City-Data limits each forum to only one.

I know that in the forums I'm assigned to watch, I'll sometimes make a temporary sticky or two but will "unstick" them after a short period of time. The senior moderators will come by from time to time and unstick all extraneous stickies.

Let's see how this forum moderator will address your request.

Yes...one with a generic start...like (fill-in the blanks):

Hi. I've been to Las Vegas before and just love it!!!!! I'm thinking of moving from ______________ to Las Vegas in ____ months. I was wondering where I could find a good apartment for $______ per month. I'd like someplace that is safe, quiet, and that has good schools for my ____ children. Also, how hard is it to find jobs there? Right now, I'm (choose one - ) working as/studying to be _______________. I am a single/married/divorced (choose one) male/female (choose one) who is _____ years old and I just need a change because __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________________________. Also, I 'm looking for some place that is warm.

If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it. And, please....no smart-a$$ posts from that jfkIII guy!!!!!!!

That was so good I had to give him a point.

Then my monitor melted. I wonder what that meant.
