Move up where?
I have a friend that works there and has been trying to get a promotion for 3 years.
He's never been late...and never called out ONCE...not ONCE.
They paint this picture of room for advancement, but it's not for everybody.

A relative of my husband, a cocktail server said she hasn't had a raise in a few years. She is older so she won't be able to get another cocktail job at a strip property.

I find their commercials with employees speaking pretty cheesy.

And let's be perfectly frank: Station casinos cooks who are able to move up need remedial training to get up to speed for what we do on the strip. They don't know the meaning of "busy."

Yes. I was speaking of the company, not the specific location. Austin's is indeed at the Texas .

Doesn't anyone working in the resort/casino business in metro Vegas want to work at the Strip properties, if for no other reason than money and prestige. Maybe so of the workers in the locals joints have a comfort factor there. But if everyone who wanted those types of jobs could get one on the strip, I would think they would. Since they can't, they work the locals casinos.

I don't know how anyone could even survive on those wages. Even double those wages would be hard to survive.

Probably because there's less business.
