Have been living abroad for awhile and am making the move back in July. I'm curious as to what the Vegas job market is like?

What's your expertise?

If you are a stripper, you can start the same night you arrive. If you want to manage a strip club, then that might be an issue.

Haha, that's pretty funny. My background is leasing / finance. If I had a rack I wouldn't be inquiring on a message board.

I have family in town and they advised the job market was strong, so just wanted to get an idea from other locals on the ground...

FWIW was in Vegas a couple weeks ago. Mon-Thurs was like a ghost town but Friday and weekend was busy as I remembered during the bubble 2000's. I don't know what that means but I think the major difference when Vegas was booming was that the weekdays were almost as good as the weekends.

Also, I booked July 4th week at Hard Rock Hotel for less than $100 a night overall. That is astoundingly low for July 4th week in vegas compared to the past years that I had done it. It *could* be a bad sign that Vegas has really slowed down overall or it could mean Hard Rock Hotel just isn't that popular anymore. I just don't know.

The 8 News NOW report is many years old???

"The Eight Best Jobs In LV" seems to be awfully optimistic about
some of the salaries....Dental Hygenists make $68,000 a year?

I only checked out this one link.

Las Vegas Home to Hottest Job Market - 8 News NOW

There is no date on it, but it must have been from before 2006. None of those figures are accurate now.
