I have read good things about Henderson, NV and was curious to know if it is a good place to raise a family?

You will need to be a bit more specific with your question. Are you asking about the schools and such?
Henderson is part of the Las Vegas valley, and in the valley, it's hard to tell if you are in Henderson, North Las Vegas, Las Vegas , or just Clark County.

Henderson is not an exurb like Boulder City, for instance.

Five syllables. Not bad, my friend.

He's right. Just search for "Henderson" on this board and you will get all the info you need. In short, yes, Henderson is family friendly, provided you pick the right schools.

I'll give you one advantage of Henderson over the rest of the Valley: Auto Insurance is much lower.

Though some of the information is esoteric and arcane...

Mre seriously Henderson is a city of over 200,000 like all such cities it has good and bad areas. If you will be of the affluent class stay south of 215 between Volunteer and Stephanie.

If not of the privileged class stay south.

Been very happy raising my children in Henderson for the last 5 yrs. since we moved here. No complaints, lots of parks and recreational centers in my area and got my kids into the newest charter school and have been happy with both schools (the charter and the zoned Elementary school) that they have gone to so far. Also, downtown Henderson has all kinds of activities on the weekends throughout the year and Boulder City is not far away and has lots of activities in their town also. We live close to downtown Henderson, not Green Valley area

Yes. But so is Summerlin, the northwest part of the Valley, and lots of other places. Just keep in mind that Henderson is more congested, and due to it's location and lower altitude, it gets hotter in summer, and colder in winter, and when it finally rains, which isn't often, they usually get more than most other areas of town.
