So, I just got a speeding ticket for going 5 mph over from Las Vegas Metro.
I was told to wait two weeks and go online and if I took an online training class that my ticket would be reduce down to a parking violation.

Does anyone know how much should I expect to pay for this ticket or should I hired one of those attorney's for $50 to handle this ticket for me?

Thanks.

All those lawyers do is go to the judge and ask for traffic school.

Hired lawyer-- cost $45

Reduced to "illegal parking",,,,fine $395 !!

Ripoff. only thing, it doesn't show as moving violation,
therefore insurance rates won't go up.

NOT PRICELESS

It really depends on what court it is in whether an attorney would benefit you. If it is in justice court, you should get an attorney who can get the fines and points reduced--any of the municipal courts, it is harder for us to get the fines reduced, but we can get the points off without traffic school. The main reason that people hire us for traffic cites is if they don't want the hassle of going to the courthouse or if the citation goes into warrant

there is a +/- variable... usually around 4-5%'ish(judges discretion) based on road friction coefficient. if it was a 50mph zone... you were doing/written for more than 10% over.

you're gonna have to bite the big one on this ticket.

That not being a moving violation is a big deal. Yes the city/county/whoever gets to rip you off for $395, but only once (until they nail you again), but at least the insurance company can't rip you off for even more for a few years. Also, if you get nailed again, their are no points from this ticket to add in.

I'd say the lawyer was worth the money.
