Hello Everyone!

I will be coming to Vegas this weekend and wanted to know where to get the best views of the Strip at night. I have found many rooftop bars, but a lot of them have cover charges. Does anyone know of any good places to go that don't cost anything?

Thanks so much!!

East side on Hollywood will give you a nice view.

The strip (Las Vegas Boulevard) is 4 1/2 miles long so it is hard to get a straight shot from one end to the other. If you have a room in a hotel at one end or the other it might be possible the Stratosphere may be your best bet but if you are going up to the Observation area it will cost $18.00. The Elfie tower at Paris is another but they also charge $ to go to the top. and you would not get a full shot of the strip from there. May be some other folks know some areas where you can get a full view at no cost. Good luck but even the aerial views on LV cost money!!!!!!!!!!

How far/close do you want to be, is the question?

Sunrise is a good area from which to view the strip. The mountains in southeast Henderson near Railroad Pass are a little too far. Summerlin is pretty far too.

Wow! Absolutely gorgeous photos! Is this in a parking lot at the temple? Also curious when these were taken and time?

I have no idea when/what time, they were taken...

I found them here:

Las Vegas Nevada LDS (Mormon) Temple Photograph Download #94

It looks like a good viewing area though...

Here is a great article from Desert Companion about (In their opinion) the best places to view the strip at night:

Desert Companion - Community: A view (without a room)

I would imagine it's OK to post this link as the magazine is a free periodical?

Those photos were taken from the development up the side of the mountain on Owens St. (gated). But you can drive up to the gate, turn around, and that's the view.

Any time you have a clear picture (not hazy) of the Las Vegas strip, it was almost certainly taken during winter. Otherwise, rising heat affects the picture quality.
