Will definitely check out Sears - the house does have the hook up - today a dog trainer is coming to the house to deal with issues my dogs have due to move -hopefully working with the dogs will make things better. Was I had moved to Summerlin instead of 89074 - everything I seem to need or like to do is there - however it is what it is; we decided last night to proceed fixing up the house - many problems with yard, A/C etc. and then decide in April - will not unpack totally so that makes me feel better. Just unpacked what we need.

Hopefully Sears - will go there tomorrow will be the solution to at least one house problem.

Thank you so much.

I did buy over the phone, and then Water Tec came out and did the install. I did not pay anything until after the installation was completed. The person I spoke to on the phone was somewhat helpful. I benefitted a lot from having done my homework before calling though. Most of that homework came from internet information like the threads I showed you earlier. Before buying from Water Tec I looked at systems at Loewes and Home Depot. Having seen them in the stores, however, was not much help. So, I had no hesitation about making a decision on the phone especially when I knew I was not going to be giving Water Tec any money until after the install was done.

Thank to this forum and my research and having been thru two sales calls, I am going to go with Water-Tech - price for softener and chlorine removal - The Eliminator plus their top of the line R/O is 1995 installed, no tax; Sears was also very nice and came to a few hundred less but there is a better warranty on the Water-Tec.

Thank you.

Default Still satisfied?

Are you still happy with your system? Is there anything you wish you'd done differently?

How about you Water Tech owners? Are you happy with your system? Are you happy with your service? Have you seen this comparison? Compare Home Water Filters Is it bogus?

I had Water Tec install a softener, r/o and a filter (this is part of the unit that is the softener) that removes chlorine and and I am very happy with it; they come by every eight weeks to fill up the salt - only charge is 7.00 for the sale. The installation was on 1/28 - apologize for not posting sooner. The difference, imho, in water quality is amazing. The price installed was 2010 as the tech had to put in some extra pipe. Company is very easy to deal with. Wanted to add that like Coco, I did a lot of research before using Water Tec - including reading all threads on this board i could find re water softeners, having other companies come to the house, using Angie's list, and checking on equipment prices using Google.

Is whole house water filtration really that uncommon in Clark County? I'm surprised by the lack of response to my queries. When I ask peole I meet in Las Vegas, the say things like, "I buy bottled water." It seems to me that I could pay for a whole house water filter pretty fast buying bottled water besides the damage all that grit does to my water heater, clothes washer and plumbing.

Filtered water still doesn't taste particularly good in this town. All the casinos filter their water. And once the water warms up to room temperature, it tastes like diluted Alka-seltzer.

I went the whole house RO route. But it's fairly expensive and there are yearly membranes to buy.
