That's pretty cool. That house would definitely be the winner in my neighborhood.

^^If you had to live next to that going off all the time, it would make you lose your mind and want to kill something.

I also saw there is a trick or treat thing going on at the District. So, anyone have any advice? Would love to hear input. Our kids are 3 years old and 11 months old, so we would only want events for little ones. Thanks for the help!

Was just reading my home town news and see that cities in WV now limit the hours of trick or treat, and they only give kids about an hour and a half. That's what happens when people think the government knows best. If any politicians would try that here they'd be impeached or recalled.

Best Places To Trick-or-Treat In Las Vegas | Zillow Blog

Quote:
There is a common belief that wealthy neighborhoods are the Holy Grail for harvesting the most Halloween candy. However, to provide a more holistic approach to trick-or-treating, the Zillow Trick-or-Treat Housing Index was calculated using four equally weighted data variables: Zillow Home Value Index, population density, Walk Score and local crime data from Relocation Essentials. Based on those variables, the Index represents cities that will provide the most candy, with the least walking and fewest safety risks.

Funny as hell. And jibes with my experience.

We live in a fairly well-to-do neighborhood. Kids are literally bused in. But we bought a metric ***k-ton of Tootsie Pops. Because 1) You get a thousand of them for five dollars; and 2) If we have extra, we can save them for next year because they ain't gonna melt.

Maybe not for long.

Yep, because W. Virginia is a well-known bastion of big-government liberalism.

Maybe all the juvenile diabetes in that state has something to do with it.

My HOA puts out a newsletter each October that lists the "safe and sane" houses to Trick-or-Treat at. We literally got a black mark here. (Too scary) It pissed me off because they didn't state the reason in the newsletter. It's not like we are pedophiles or something for cryin' out loud. It's just a bunch of very scary decorations.

My son said " Mom, don't worry about it. The best way to keep track of the criminal element is to BE the criminal element."

I'm sure he's going to be a politician someday.

If you are in the neighborhood behind discovery park you will be in good company. Lots of door to door. Also my older kid went to the district last year and came home telling us how cool it was& about all the cute "littles" in costume she saw there.
