How did they know about it? Do they have spotters or something?

Someone gets caught and starts snitching. That's usually how they get their info along with the thousands of other care theft investigations and leads. Eventually they caught the guys that stole my cousin's car. They didn't even live in Vegas.

The car thieves were only in town for one reason. So yes you are right, there has to be someone to let these guys know when to come to town.(spotters)

I need a cheap apartment (but safe) near McCarran Airport. Long story but I'm not married and don't have kids so schools are not a problem and I'm generally away from home 4 days per week. Can someone help me? I'm not familiar with Vegas at all. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Since McCarran is in the middle of town, EVERYTHING is close to the airport. I wouldn't live anywhere near the airport, though. Not the best area of town. Plus, noise. I live on the extreme east rim of the valley, and I can be at the airport in 20 minutes.

After living in Vegas for 22 years, I won't sugar coat my thoughts on this. Stay away from the area of Craig Road to Tropicana and from Hollywood to Decatur. That square is the source of a lot of crime and the bad neighborhoods heavily outweigh the good.

Stay far away from the East side as possible and you'll be fine. That whole area is over run with illegal immigrants.

Thanks for the information. I'm not worried about the noise too much. I'm out of town generally 4 days out of a week. I need an apartment $600 or less p/month.

You're saying Craig to Trop and Hollywood to Decatur is "overrun with illegal immigrants"? That's ridiculous. It looks like you haven't gotten out much in your 22 years here.

I currently live on Fort Apache and Blue Diamond, but I grew up on Lake Mead and Nellis.
