My husband and I are planning to move to Vegas and we are looking for a 2 bedroom rental. I would like to live near a shopping area (mall), grocery store and someplace that has fine dining around. I would like a place that is newer, more contemporary and has amenities. Being close to the strip would be a huge plus. Any ideas???

Ask a realtor the exact same thing...

Presuming that you don't want to spend much money you can likely find what you are looking for along Trop or Flamingo or on Buffalo between Lake Mead and Summerlin Pkwy. 89146,8911789147,89128

I would suggest off the 215 Beltway below Summerline. 5 min from the strip, nice & new shopping centers, low crime and nice area. You could also go the other direction and move to Centennial Hills off the hwy 95. Newer community, newer shopping centers with higher end dining and stores. Beautiful view of the mountains and 12-15 min drive to the strip. I own in both locations (rental + vacation home) and these are my personal favorites. Zip codes are 89113 and 89131.

Thats it? That is easy. A realtor will definitely be able to find everything you need in red.

But this is something I always wondered about people who want to be near "shopping". Are they shopping for entertainment?

Retail therapy is my guess.

Personally, I want to be far away from shopping. Less noise and traffic that way.

Some do, I think. I'm not much of a recreational shopper but I do enjoy browsing kitchen gadgets at William Sonoma or people watching at the District and other places like that.

Oh Dear, I shop every weekend. I enjoy it. I don't spend alot but I look alot.
I have looked at places online like Summerlin and Centennial Hills. I do like the Green Valley area but I am thinking that the Boca Raton Condos will be a good start for renting. It seems to be close to everything without having to really commute. Plus I read that they have airport and strip shuttles. It is also close to an outlet mall and the Forum Shops. The condos seem to have bad reviews from 2009 but the more recent reviews seem to be better. I did read something disconcerting that they will raise rents recklessly and trump up bogus charges.
Any input??
