I am thinking of starting a business in the Anthem Highlands shopping area by Albertson's. What type of items do you find it a hassle to travel down to Eastern or GV to purchase? What type of business would you like to see in that shopping location? My first 2 thoughts are smoothie shop or pet supply with grooming (very early stages of thought). Any suggestions you have regarding what you would like to see in the shopping area would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I think the smoothie market is saturated already.

On the other hand, if you want to go with something dessert like why not consider a "Cold Stone Creamery" franchise and keep late hours.

Also there are not many late night restaurants in the area unless you hit the casino. Just be sure to have a sign at the door that says "Please unload gun and take off ski mask before entering".

I think the Pizza business is also a very risky one.

Whatever you do, be sure to do a lot of investigation and confer with people who have been successful in the business you are looking at even if you have to travel to meet them.

Just my opinion.

Frozen Yougurt would probably do well and keep the hours late in the summertime. Auto repair/Oil Change place??

There already was a Cold Stone Creamery up there in the Albertsons Plaza. They've been closed for about 3 or 4 years. I personally would love to see a frozen yogurt place or even a Dunkin Donuts. There's already a Pizza Hut and an Italian eatery (pizza) a Subway, a Starbucks, Chinese food, Mexican food and a PT's Pub.

No interest in smoothies, but I am with the poster about a business that stays open late. I tire of driving miles for my fix of Raising Cane's chicken fingers!

Look at a froyo franchise call 16 Handles. They're springing up like weeds in NYC, and getting big lines in the right location.

Hehehe. I grew up on JITB tacos. But they pulled out of the Northeast. Every time in I'm Vegas, one lunch is JITB.

But to the OPs issue, there are no shortage of JITBs in Vegas.

Edit: Just looked, there is a non-JITB taco place already in the shopping center. No sign of anything ice cream like. I stand by my 16 Handles recommendation.

Maybe it's just me, but isn't it a little strange to be thinking about a business plan without knowing what kind of business you want to run? It would seem more logical to decide what kind of business you want, decide how you want to market it, how many employees you'll need, etc., THEN decide where you want that business to be.

Whatever happens, good luck with your venture.

There are already so many eateries, but a really good BBQ place would be nice. Maybe offer different styles (regional) types of BBQ to capture a greater segment of the market.
