My wife is a nationally certified pharmacy tech. Right now she works at Rite Aid, which apparently packed up and moved out of Vegas a while back, so she can't transfer.

Two questions. Anyone know if this is a position that has a lot of openings?

Also, working in a pharmacy can be a dangerous job anywhere. We lived in a very small quiet town with very low crime in Washington State and her pharmacy was held up at gun point, not while she was there though. Since moving to North Carolina 2 Rite Aid pharms (not ones she's worked at) have been robbed by an armed person.
It's a scary situation for me, being the person that I am, worried about her safety, but I know that a pharmacy could be robbed anywhere in the country. My question is this: is there any particular reason to think that she would face a bigger threat in Las Vegas than anywhere else? Does this seem to happen often in Vegas?

Got a friend that works overnight at CVS in a pretty nasty neigborhood and seems to never get robbed, somehow. I know of a free clinic in town that needs a pharm tech. They only operate during the day and carry no narcotics. Not sure if the pay is good, but if you are worried for safety it might be a place to check into. The place is called Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada. Look them up and perhaps give them a call, see if they still need a pharm tech. The person to speak with would be Amy.

Have two friends who are pharmacists locally, they say lots of need for techs. There is a pharmacy on seemingly every corner, in almost every grocery store and Wal Mart and Target, Costco and Sam's Club.
