I bought my current sofa and loveseat from Big Lots. As far as getting it home, I just rented a $19.99 Uhaul which was cheaper than any delivery charge at any store I shopped. (most charged $50 or so) Of course if you don't have help, that $50 charge would be worth it to you.

I will be doing the same thing when I move, buying new instead of paying to move what I have.

I got most of my furniture from there as well. Twice a year they have big sales, I think one is coming up this month or next. EQ3 in town square is a decent place if they're still open. I forget the name of the place that was next to them, but they did all the interior design work on the marquis model home. Sweet stuff but I couldn't see paying 10k for a sofa. Not a sectional, a sofa.

We got that sofa. We paid $1000 on Craigslist for it. It was barely used, by a guy who was sick to death of Las Vegas. He was moving back to Manhattan -- and he didn't have room for it.

My best scores on Craigslist have been power tools. I bought an entire cabinet shop worth of tools from a place that was closing in 2007. Pennies on the dollar. I had a lot of tune-up work to do. But I got much better stuff than I could possibly afford for less than Home Depot tools.

Thanks for all the responses guys and gals! I am going to Ashley in Seattle today to see if I can just order here and have it delivered when I arrive ... only 10 more days until I get there. Nuts! Anyone out there who has read my posts knows what a long road this has been for me ... the marriage, the job, the move etc.

Well this worked out pretty well. The guys who are renting the place I am at now purchased all the furniture I was going to take with me had I payed movers - now I get $$$, furniture until I leave, and I don't have to deal with CL.

After a trip to Walker and Cort - I bought it all at Cort. 3k for a bed / mattress, dresser w/ mirror, nightstand, kitchen table / chairs, sofa and chair, two end tables, coffee table, 3 lamps, bookshelf, TV stand and vase. I could have went cheaper but I got the stuff I wanted - not a bad deal folks! They also delivered within 3 hours of purchase but the delivery guy hit on me??? A night of casinos, steaks and low riders - eh no thanks. Thanks for the advice everyone

Default Yep, CL is the way to go, if you have a way to get it home.

A lot of people move from Vegas in June. I've found some nice indoor and outdoor furniture, tools, and appliances.
