No seriously, the point of the bra is to have a cool black "leather" look on the hood. Oh, and deflect bogs and whatnot, too, I guess?
Slow tourists?

But it's permanently attached to your windsheild? I would NOT like that. Plus, ever been in a New Beetle? The windsheild is VERY curved and very far away! (Beetles are suprisingly roomy inside) I can't see how that would work.

One good thing about Las Vegas is no bugs. Our windshield is a little yucky right now from California bugs though. But even over there it's not nearly as bad as most of rural America can be.
Car bras are in 2 peices. One fits on the end of the hood, and the other fits around the front of the car. They have vented areas to allow the car to breathe. My Firebird had one, and I was thinking of getting just the partial one for my Beetle.

I'll take your word on the sheepskin car seat covers. It sounds awful!

Funny, in researching car bras and the effect they have on the car in extreme heat, I see that the stuff my car already has stuck on IS a clear bra. It's clear bra adhesive film.

Neither did I, but it does. They are attached by fasteners that use a sticky glue that doesn't hurt the glass at all, on each side, and they don't block your view at all, but they can be removed easily. However, once you use them you will never give them up. I'm sure there would be no problem fitting a VW. We've had them on two Saturns, two Honda Accords, a Dodge Class C camper van, and a Toyota Highlander. A couple of times when we sold a car we took the shade with us and put it on the next one. You just ask for one made for your car, but if there is a difference I've never seen it. It's really the height of the windshield, not the length, that is the difference. They aren't cheap, but believe me, in the desert they are worth it.

The black 'ol school bras are a bit too tacky IMO, I had one way back when on an IROC Z28 in the early 90s.

The way to go is the 3m clear protection film. It's basically like the clear plastic /polyurethane (?)'that you use to cover smart phone screens, iPads, etc. Unless you look real close you won't even know it's there.

I have a black 2004 Saturn ION. Have had since it was new. I love darker colors too. Yeah it gets hot, but unless you are in a hurry, just take your time leaving and let your car cool down with the AC. Another color I like besides black is charcoal or a dark blue. Silver is just too plain for me. White is ok depends how you accent it. Either way as long as the car does not have chrome on it, I will take it.

So I'm yet again looking at trading in my car and I searched black car Las Vegas and this popped up - too funny. 2012 huh? I think I've had a couple white bimmers since then. Looking at the new M5 in black they're so sexy. I have a 15 in white now, an X5 in white before that and a white Jeep Grand Cherokee before that. Time for a change...
