Well I have read a ton of reviews about imperial palace such as its cheap and the room is disgusting. Fine that is kind of expected since its right on the strip and thus those rooms are cheap.

However, i have read quite many reviews of people mentioning they had money and valuables stolen from their room on sites such as this, yelp and other sites. Most of them mentioned that many had money stolen and jewelry and laptop stolen while they were sleeping. Others mention they go out a few hours and come back and only to find out their iphones and cash are stolen. I read many reviews where people mentioned they left money in the room and had it stolen and then the hotel/security did nothing about it. I thought hey this can't be real right... but there were quite a lot of people mentioning this so it doesn't seem to be an isolated incident.

I also read people mentioned that a lot of the workers at Imperial Palace are shady as oppose to other places. Has anyone stayed at imperial palace ever had anything stolen from them before in their rooms? Most reviews had people mention they didn't want housekeeping and even left a tag on the door they dont want housekeeping and they mentioned lot of them even came in while they were sleeping and thus felt their privacy was invaded as anyone should be. How in the world is this possible? Isn't there a security bolt at Imperial Palace like every single casino?

The thing is I don't see many cases like this at say aria, wynn, venetian or even harrahs. It seems like lot of this happens at Imperial Palace.

I read a few people mention these are fake stories that are made up, and stuff like they lost the money at the casino only to use this as an excuse to try to get the money back. But then i read many more reviews like this where lot of members from yelp who seem to be legit people mention this and not those with like 1-2 posts.

I stayed at IP for 5 nights in Sept. It was FINE. I also read horror stories about theft, dirty rooms, etc etc before my stay and finally just had to STOP reading the reviews because they were freaking me out. Our room was clean, quiet, and quite comfortable. We had plenty of towels, the shower worked fine, the elevators were not slow, check in was fast, check out was even faster. Any employee we dealt with was nice and helpful .(these are all things people complained about in online reviews) We felt 100% safe the entire trip. It was a great bargain and the perfect location on the strip. All we needed was a place to sleep, shower and change and it served its purpose perfectly. Hash House a Go Go is there, too, which was a plus!

That being said, I would never leave CASH in my room, and you (general) cannot be naive about people. Be aware, be cautious, and don't be foolish about leaving stuff laying around that is tempting.

I have stayed as the Tuscany Resort, they had a safe in the room the you pick a code or swipe a cc card.

I said in 2007 that that was the last time me staying at the IP - we had to walk by a smelly door to some garbage thing to get to my buddies room.

Those hotel room safes can be defeated in 30 seconds. There are dozens of YouTube videos showing exactly how to do it. If you have enough cash to worry about ask at the front desk or cage for secure storage.

We've never had a problem with safety at any hotel in Vegas....and the rooms safes have held our "stuff" just fine.
Yes...if you have so many valuables or so much money that you're concerned, use the safe deposit boxes at the front desk. Otherwise, the room safe will serve the purpose.

I have never had a problem either. Ive stayed at the high end places on the strip, weekly rentals on Boulder Highway and everything in between. I was always leery of the CC swipe safes as I thought they were easily hackable or what if I lost my wallet with the specific CC that I locked it out with. If you win enough money the casino will cut you a check or you can deposit the money back into your account through any bank or Credit Union's branch unless you have a weird banking situation. I always suspect that the illegals or barely legals that mostly clean the rooms here in the Valley wouldnt want to jeopardize their jobs by stealing, though Im sure it happens.

I travel for a living, and can tell you that theft from hotel rooms is not uncommon. It can happen at any hotel in the world. With that said, I've never had any problems at any Las Vegas hotel, including the IP. But I don't leave anything valuable in my room, and I don't use those room safes, either. My cash and cell phone stay with me at all times, along with about 25lbs of camera gear. Carrying all of that stuff around does get old, but then again, I've never been ripped off, either (yet..there's still time).
