I might be staying weekends and some weekdays at the Las Vegas Club Casino and El Cortez to save money.

Does anyone know if the area is okay?

Las Vegas Club is a serious dive. It is probably the worst hotel in central downtown. Spend the extra $15 to stay at sister property Plaza, which was gutted and remodeled less than a year ago. I don't think Vegas Club's hotel is open during weekdays except maybe a Thursday here and there. If you are able to book a M-W room it is likely you are actually booking a Plaza room at a discount and they are hoping they will actually fill Vegas Club. This also happens some weekends when Vegas Club + Plaza reservations are less than Plaza's capacity. VC guests get bumped next door and the VC hotel simply does not open.

El Cortez has many remodeled rooms, but a lot of the hotel is very old. Make sure that you are getting one of their remodeled rooms. You also do not want to wander too far east of El Cortez at night. It is not in the Fremont Street Experience, and is on the edge of a very sketchy area.

Maybe you don't mind old rooms that have not been updated in decades. If that is the case, then you will not be let down. If I had to choose between Vegas Club and non remodeled El Cortez rooms I would choose Vegas Club. At least you will be in the middle of everything. One of the towers at VC is being remodeled so if you are booking out far enough maybe you will get one of those rooms.

Hi. Most of those days i see for las vegas club hotel is on the weekends... mainly friday-monday.

The thing is I wanted to stay at holiday royale b/c of its cheap weekly rates. But im not sure if they are going to have studio available so i decided to go look at downtown hotels. Since im staying for 3 weeks, even doing this method of cheap hotels and bouncing around las vegas club, el cortez and imperial palace will cost me like 850 dollars.

I honestly do not care about old rooms. I just want a place to sleep.

Then you will be just fine. If you stay at El Cortez play the 1-6 spread limit holdem during the day with Jackie Gaughan. It is an experience. He will talk about the good old days. He helped build downtown and lives in the EC hotel.

Hey. Well i do not plan to play any poker at these hotels. The limits are way too low and its not profitable due to the rake. Basically i know you cannot win at limit b/c of the rake unless you are playing 10/20 limit.

I plan to play at bellagio, aria, venetian.

But would you say the las vegas club casino is fine just for sleeping??

It is on the dirty side and worn, but I would stay there over a low end extended stay if those were my choices. You may want to read some of these reviews:

Las Vegas Club Hotel & Casino - Downtown - Las Vegas, NV

Notice the more recent reviews are the worst ones. A friend of mine stayed in one of the old EC rooms recently and described them similar to how I remember the LVC room I saw a few years ago.

Nope, but the one on Cameron next to the Orleans gets decent reviews and you can use the free shuttle to Bill's which puts you right in the middle of where you said you want to play.
