We have a swamp cooler and are the last ones to turn on our air in the summer and the first ones to turn it off in the fall.

I use a humidifier/air purifier combo. Vegas can get dusty sometimes, so this works well for us. It's a little pricey, but works well.

Great. I get static electric shocks year round here, even on very humid days. Of course I also tend to cause eletronic equipment to reset itself when I touch it. Hmmm. Maybe I'm a superhero of some sort.

Definately not tap water in those. If you do, you will find your stuff covered in a fine layer if white dust.
