I'm an Illinoisan who's tired of the winters here and wanting to live in the southwestern sun. Does anyone here have any idea what the average wages are for a cab driver in Las Vegas?
I know cab driving isn't considered that lucrative, but my dad claimed to have went to school with a guy who split to Vegas after school and made a good living from it, Vegas being a major tourist destination and all.
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

I saw a local TV show say the average driver makes about 26000 a year sounds a little low for me. that might explain why the only people they draw is the bottom feeders .

Cab drivers are in a constant state of rage. I often remark to myself how glad I am not to be a cab driver.

I'm sorry to be draging up an old thread, gang. How dangerous is it to drive a cab here in Vegas? Would I need to get a concealed carry permit? I basically know my way around town, and I do have a GPS unit. I'm having trouble finding a job, and I might have to do this to keep from living in my car. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the info, it's something to think about. It's bound to be better than flipping burgers. Would you recommend carrying some form of protection?
