Hello everyone! Forgive me if this seems hastily written, but I have a question about where to meet a particular type of woman.

I am a recent college graduate (mid 20s) who has a very strong passion for fitness, mostly weight training and powerlifting. I don't compete in bodybuilding or anything like that, but I do train heavy and frequently. As such, I am interested in women who are also heavily into weight training and who even sport muscular builds. I am attracted to both the look and the lifestyle. This, unfortunately, leads to some problems:

Common sense would say to look at places where I can find people who match my lifestyle; in this case, that place is the gym. Unfortunately, questions about how to meet and talk to women at the gym are usually met with very scathing replies about how women hate being talked to at the gym. I can understand why some would not like being "approached" at the gym, but I don't do bars or clubs (I am a teetotaler,) and the gym is a huge part of my life, so why not there?

I have been told to check out the classes that the gym provides, as they encourage a bit more of a social atmosphere than just training in the weight room or cardio room. The problem is that these classes generally don't attract the type that I am looking for. Bodybuilders and other serious weight lifters never go to those classes, at least to my knowledge.

Finally, as a final note before I head to work, I have heard to go "for the ones who are looking to be picked up, the ones who are sporting makeup, skimpy attire, barely pushing the 5 lb weights, barely working out." This is the type of woman that I am not interested in. I want someone who is dedicated to her craft and who is seriously pushing weights.

I would love to hear what fellow Las Vegans think about this topic. Thank you!

Good luck, not many of those to be found and you'll be competing with lots of other gym rats for the few of them that are out there.

The gym you'll want to go find dedicated power lifters here in Vegas is Average Broz, not many girls there though. I'd shoot for a Crossfit joint, they usually have at least some women and their clientele is much more serious about training and fitness then your average 24 hour fitness or LVAC group class attendee.

There is a big difference from someone like her compared to this

Zuzana does not have huge mass but she has the perfect amount of feminine looking muscle (You didnt pick the best pictures). The second picture you posted is a woman who obviously isn't getting that muscle the natural way. Another woman who makes me want to cry in a corner is Jamie Eason-Sorry for the thread hijack OP.

I suppose that way he gets a real life test of how muscular they are when they all jump him for trying to steal each others girlfriends.

That's a great idea! And Las Vegas Drunk has a good idea of the type that I am attracted to. I am attracted to a woman who lifts heavy, but doesn't do steroids. Once they get to that level, it just becomes too much in my eyes.

Does anyone else have any additional suggestions? I would love to hear from the ladies who are themselves heavily involved in fitness and lifting.

I do kickboxing and strength training...but I've gotten lazy! I am determined to get back up to the 6 day a week routine again. (I'm averaging 4 days a week) I am not super dedicated to it, though. Given the choice I'd rather lay on the couch. I do go at 5:30 AM though, so that has to count for something!

I'd like to get some good muscle defintion in my arms, but not too much. I have some already, but I'm going for more. Also, doing lots of pushups, chest flies, and other chest exercises has proven to be quite...helpful!

I've got a ways to go, though, to be anything like Zuzana.

@ElleTea: That's still very good! I know how you feel about some days wanting to be on the couch instead of at the gym. I have never gone that early; usually I go a bit after lunchtime or at night.

What do you think about my original question?
