Stayed at the Rio recently while my landlord had my Vegas crib's interior painted (ahh... the joy of renting!). Landlord gave me $20/day rent credit.
I paid $21 a night for a suite, no resort fee. Very convenient to the strip and easy parking.
Hit an NBA 5-team parlay for $20 while there, cashed for @$2,000.

wayyyyyy nice.. I might make that my next place to stay.

I was staying at a hotel for a week and they tried to hit me with a 'service fee' that nearly doubled cost and without really mentioning it.

Def got a refund after a short discussion and good keyword usage.

All of the Harrah's resorts are proud of their "no resort fee" policy. They are Bally's, Harrah's, Caesars, Horseshoe, Flamingo, Imperial Palace, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Rio, Grand Biloxi, Tunica Roadhouse, and Showboat. My friend stayed at Excalibur and her travel agent (who uses a TA anymore?) insisted she wouldn't have any extra fees, but she did. They added up to about $80 more bucks due at checkout to pay for things like internet access and use of the fitness center, which she did not use.

We used to stay at the IP up until about 2000 when the food, the elevators and the general lack of maintenance in the rooms finally got to be too much even for us.

The only elevator trick I know at IP is to use the "front" elevators - they are newer and faster than the ones all the way in the back of the casino. You may have to walk a maze of hallways to get to your room once you get to your floor, but it beats waiting for the others.
