AAAARRRRGGGHHH!!! I plan on visiting both of these cities to see for myself, obviously, but I'm still trying to do what research I can on the net. Where would you rather live? For those who know the pros and cons of each city, can you please list them? Thanks for your help! Yes...I've done a search, but some things change and I am intersted in current info and opinions. THANKS!!!

For the last 6 or 7 years and up to the last 12 months, you could get about twice the value for your housing dollar in Vegas versus the SD area. Maybe a nice fat drop in housing prices in SD will rectify that situation. Much of the SD area is a very pleasant place to live, climate-wise. But their situation with the layout of their freeways is a real problem. The traffic all around the SD area has become very bad and very time-consuming, every day of the week. If you can locate your home and job so that you don't have to commute on certain freeways, you can have a really pleasant life there seven days a week. I was heart-set on moving to SD from Boston about 7 years ago, but the timing didn't work out.

I moved to Vegas in middle of 2003, a time when SD housing prices had already risen beyond my interest level. The traffic situation here has gotten tougher in the last 2 or 3 years, but not in the SD range of toughness.

Also, the entire SD area represents a much larger population and is at base a more affluent overall population than found in LV. LV is probably a more feasible (business friendly) place to start a new business than SD. The SD economy and employment market is much more diverse (lots of high tech and biotech) and higher paying than in LV.

Keep reading this board, and you'll probably learn what you need to know to make a decision about LV.

then you may have already seen this one as well...

Bottom line was San Diego is nicer but costs half again as much as Las Vegas.
