So my family and I just moved here from LA! We did some looking and found this place right off the strip....(Harbor Island). First of all they charged me 100.00 more then the weekly advertised price. but thats ok...BUT the thing that bothers me is there are POLICE EVERYWHERE!!!!! i feel like i live in a police station. the SECOND thing which kills me is the roaches are unblieveable. I sware they are super roaches. Takes so much to kill them!!! They i sware are bionic!!!! I went to the staff they said 3 days in a row they would come spray and ...NOTHING! My kids are begging us to sleep somewhere else. I paid up till the 10th. and cant wait to leave. I was told there are no refunds. Anyone know of a place that is ROACH free and kid friendly!? and around 150.00 a week????? i am at my wits end and keep my kids out late just to advoid the roaches. Any advice helps!!! One of my children are disabled and soi need the place to be a clean place.......THANKS!!!!

That's the problem, cheap right next to the strip, equals bugs and thugs. For $600 a month, which is what you are paying if you stay at Joes apartment, aka: Harbor Island, you can get a cheap 2 bedroom apt on the east side of town. Good luck. I hope someone can give you some good ideas.

Gross. Did you pay for it by credit card in which case maybe you can dispute the charge? If I couldn't get out of there I would run to the store for Raid or bait traps. You shouldn't have to do that but if you are going to wait it out that's what I would do.

Or maybe you can tell them you are going to contact channel 13. http://www.ktnv.com/youaskweinvestigate/123598949.html

Thank you you guys!! I went today and got some bug spray. I wanted to stay near the strip because of jobs but not at the cost of my kids getting chased out of their beds by roaches. My son has a Gtube and im so scared one is gonna climb into it!

THANKS for the link...checking out that now.

Yea, $600 a month to live in a crime/roach infested motel is not even remotely a good deal. I'm paying less than that for rent with no current issues in a quiet area.

Well, you could have asked us first as Harbor Island is a scary dump. Look at some of the weekly hotels downtown, as well as the weekly motels near Palace Station. Downtown maybe easier if you don't have a car.

The upside is that when you move out, just about anything will look great in comparison.

The bug spray is not going to help. They entire building complex is likely infested. If you spray really good, it will end up making the problem worse. The bugs will come crawling out of the walls like a horror movie.
