Gnu Yawk ALWAYS has seats available. For ANY show. No disclaimers as seems to be the issue with your statement. Stop playing word games and issue excuses. If I wouldn't have tried what you suggested above I wouldn't be arguing. Last time we went to La Reve, the place was probably only 40% full, empty seats up, down and sideways. And no, "discounted" tickets were not available, we had to pay full price. Its OK to convince yourself, doesn't matter to me, but don't try to convince someone who has tried.

Like I said, nothing against LV, but reality is somewhat different than what's described in posts above. Vegas was never a match for NY for food and entertainment and never will be. Price and selection wise, MUCH better food is available in NY, LA, Boston, San Francisco and Chicago. Just some examples. Not that I do not enjoy food in Vegas, I do, but I have to overpay for it. Same as for shows.

Its difficult to have an intelligent discussion with someone who has obviously a very limited, and skewed, view on the subject. By the posts it is clear they have no idea what lies outside of LV. And inside as well...

Some key economic indicators suggesting that Las Vegas is turning positive.

1. Taxi driver quotient - interviewed 5 taxi drivers all four indicated that things are much better than one year ago and six months ago. Couldnt understand the fifth since he was Ethiopian and could barely comprehend him. Two were new to taxi driving in the past couple of years ie former construction and former realtor. One was manic so who knows.
2. Smokey Casino's - the Venetian, Palazzo, and Bellagio were much smokier than last time which might imply more guests. Or possibly it means casinos are cutting back on ventilation.
3. Service was less - still good but not as service oriented, less attention than previous trips, trying to move us out quicker.
4. Realtor call factor - she usually answers phone, now have to wait for return call
5. Dodge factor - increased difficulty getting around casinos because of more people - noticeable at Bellagio, Venetian, and Aria. Could barely move at the MGM, that place was absolutely packed. Still easy to get around at Mandalay Bay and Cosmopolitan.

Just a few trivial thoughts from a visitor.

+1 on realtors.

One said she doesn't deal with rentals.
2 said they would gladly help, but never followed up after initial contact.
One said she'll help, but only provided rental listings that seemed to fit her own criteria. 2 houses in 3 zip codes where MLX is showing at least 30+ that fit our search criteria (higher amount range, I am sure there is ton of houses below our minimum dollar range of $1600). Riiiiight...

Only FL realtors can be this lazy/disinterested in earning some money.

We're in town starting this Sunday, will be interesting to see what's going on.
