Vegas just needs to reinvent itself a bit... They should have something like a music entertainment appreciation weekend. Don't advertize who will be where just let people come to Vegas and let the performers perform where they want and people get to see who they see at whatever location they are at.. Then the venues that participate just split some of the funds some how.

Let's say your at Hotel "A" and Prince comes out.. Then at Hotel "B" a major comedian comes out. Kind of like a lottery to see entertainers. That way people will come back for years just to see who they can see.

Or..

Have a USA family reunion week. barbecues with an all you can eat bracelet or buy single items and a parade along with rides, etc..Stuff like that...Maybe a birthday bash weekend for people of a certain sign... People go to Vegas for a pre-wedding party why not have a newly divorced (within the last 12 months) weekend for those newly divorced.. That alone would bring single men and women to the city along with cash. My thinking is to offer to the masses what people do on a small scale but just bring it to Vegas and let people with a common theme party there.

Hey it's just some ideas thrown out....

jfk, you devil you!! I didn't make up the list. I am sure there are many people on this planet that love things I can't stand. Evidently New York City is one of them.

I say, more power to them. They are welcome to it.

It's all a matter of taste!

Just happy to see that Las Vegas is still a popular destination.

How are you doing there cecnj? Last time I read from you, it was sounding kind of iffy. I look forward to your honest take on things there.

Hey there JFK---thanks for checking in. October 4 will mark two months living in Vegas. I made the pledge to give it a full year and am sticking to it. All-in-all I'm feeling better about the move. Hope to post about the experience at the six month mark. I still feel that two months just isn't enough to give a balanced assessment. Have to say though, I'm sure enjoying this weather over the craziness that has been brewing over New Jersey as of late!

People seem to forget, or just don't realize, that we get nearly 40 million visitors a year. I guess they only counted the ones that actually stayed on the Strip, but still...29½ mil is a lot too.

Love Union Station in DC, and Faneuil (like Daniel) Hall in Boston. As a schoolboy patrolman in grade school, once a year we raised money for a weekend trip by train to Washington, so we spent a lot of time in Union Station. Loved getting off the train after riding all night and having breakfast in Union Station. Very exciting for a small town kid.

Try the clam chowder at Faneuil Hall sometime. OMG!

Now all we got to do is bring a Times Square/Central Park themed hotel/casino to Vegas and maybe we could steal a little thunder from the others.

hahahaha
