props to you for breaking the machine.
Yes, it is. And I was playing the minimum bet, 25 cents. This is the second time I won the jackpot on those machines. I think the first time was about a year ago or so.

The Diamond Point machines are fun. You can lose quickly if it's not your night, but if you win the jackpots are high for the amount of money per spin. Quite a few times, I have started out with $10 and left with a couple hundred.

Are their machines programmed to self destruct if someone wins?

Yep, its hard to file a complaint when both the machine and patron do not exist anymore.

Here's a post script to the story.

I was back at Boulder last night, had another comp. I went to the same machines and sat down right next to the one that paid me. I was playing along and all of a sudden it hesitated, crashed, and the same message came up on the screen. Call attendant. I did and it was one of the same slot techs that worked on it the other night. I just sat there, I wasn't about to leave. And we were all wondering if I had won again and that's why the machine crashed.

It turned out I had won again. Not 1K, but it was a $89 mini jackpot. Not the big bucks but 89 bucks on a 25cent bet isn't bad!
