Anyone got a Mac / Apple tech who I can rent by the hour. If he can sort some TV/DVD equipment out all the better.

Stupid little things that someone proficient would be able to sort out real quick. For instance I can't figure out how to get my wife's address book record her contacts. Set up a scanner/copier to work off my iMac. Some other small jobs related to my TVs and DVD players.

My PC automatically records television shows I like, then automatically strips out the commercials. I can watch an hour-long show in 40 minutes. Then if I really like it, I can burn it to DVD (or a whole series to DVD). And the whole thing works with a remote control that is intuitive in the extreme.

All that functionality with included-with-Windows software and freebie add-ons from the geek community.

Let's see a Mac do that. And let's see one play a game of Fallout, or Starcraft, while we're at it.

Neener neener neener.

I'm on that three year plan with them already. The only thing is you have to take the equipment to the store and they'll do it for you. I want someone to come over to my home and set it up, show me how it works and I'll continue. I'm just recovering from back surgery and I'd like someone to give me their opinion on those "Magic Ears" they advertise so you can watch TV without annoying the Mrs.
