Guys, I need some advice from all Vegas locals/fanatics. We are planning to do Vegas for the Super Bowl this year and I need some insider advice, there's about 8 of us (guys) going in case your wondering, all mid-late twenties, been to Vegas a few times so I know what it's like in summer/winter, but not Super Bowl.

First off, we plan to arrive Friday and stay til Monday. Are there must-do parties? Which hotel/casino is best to make home base? How are the night clubs that weekend? Is the guy:girl ratio skewed towards men? And ofcourse....how do we make sure we can watch the game at the best location (need VIP?)? Also, will there be tailgating?

Any advice on how to plan the ultimate Vegas Super Bowl weekend would be much appretiated. Thanks!

There is NO tailgating as the game is in Indy.
Overall, its a great busy wkd in Vegas. Being 8 guys, bring lots of $$$ cause you're gonna be charged for everything. All the clubs have good promotions going on, but the game is going to be at bars, rest, and sportsbook. You are more than likely going to have to be VIP to get seating to watch the game as the sportsbook usually reserve seating for their big gamblers.
And Lastly, i hope you get to bet on my Atlanta Falcons winning the super bowl

The best seat is still at home, in front of the HDTV. Less costly...plus no drunk driving to put up with.

1. Bring a LOT of cash.
2. Drink a LOT of beer.
3. Play poker.

Most casinos have their own parties, usually the best parties are for the VIPs or their high-end players. The atmosphere will be festive in all the sports books and that's the only game on. If you want to watch it in any of the sports books, get there early, like 10-11am and make sure someone from your party is at the location at all times to reserve the seats. Some casinos will open their ballrooms for free viewing. Again if you watch it in any of the ballrooms open to the general public, you'll have to get there when the doors open for best seating. Best place to start is where ever you'll be staying. Sometimes hotels will book packages consisting of room, SB party, buffet/drinks and a t-shirt or other type of souvenir.

Book your hotel soon! It's only a little over 4 months away. ***Go Steelers***

Dude, its really not all that great. If you must come to Vegas, book a suite and have all the food and drink in your suite for the actual game. Enjoy the pre and post game activities out on the town and watch the game in your room. Most of the strip hotels have HD tvs. So your not fighting for a seat, losing your place when you go to ****, not being able to hear the commentary, etc.

So superbowl weekend isn't that good of a time?

We were planning on going for the atmosphere, just as much as the big game.

I was there once for SB weekend...and once for March Madness...also hoping to catch the atmosphere. What I found is that the heavy emphasis is on the betting, winning and losing. You won't find the majority rooting for a team out of loyalty...but rather for winning their bet.

The build up was exciting...but actually watching in a suite, or your room, sounded more attractive to me...especially if you're into the game, as opposed to just your bet.
