Has anyone else noticed you never see anyone getting paid by hand for a large slot machine jackpot? Do they no longer have to hand pay with the cashless tickets or have jackpots gotten smaller? I usually play at Station Casinos and just wondering if anyone has noticed the lack of hand pays.

I had a hand pay at Sams Town for $415.00, on a ticket in ticket out machine.

Well in my opinion Station casinos has always been tight with machines. Case in point. There are some penny machine that say must hit by $500. The progressive was at $451 and when I left it was at $460. Oh yes I put $530 in that machine and nothing. HORRIBLE.

The old coin machines would hand pay if your pay was 60%+ of the amount the hopper held. Nowadays a hand pay is typically $1200+ as it requires a form. If you play at a local's tavern it is 100% hand pay.

The Lion's Share machine at the MGM is also 100% hand pay -- no ticket in, ticket out on such an old machine.

They'll make sure they hand pay you at jackpots of $1,200 or more because they'll also come around with an IRS form for you to fill out. Your jackpot won't be worth $1,200 at next year's tax time.

I had a hand pay at Main Street Station for $500 the other day. A royal flush at stations at 1K is a ticket now on most of the machines. I got lucky last New Year's Eve.
