I'd be pretty dismayed by that response also. I hope you have planned to follow up on that nodule in the lung asap. Good to hear that urgent care center has been good experience though.

I think that Roy Horn would have died after he was mauled were it not for the excellent care he received in Las Vegas.

Urgent Care clinics are not a good judge of the quality of available medical care and neither are hospital emergency rooms. The philosophy in those settings, all across the United States, is "get them, get them out, and collect the money due." I just read that your PCP told you not to worry. That is not the standard of care you should have received.

Airics, please call your insurance company to report the lack of care you received from your PCP.

The problem with Las Vegas health care is that it doesn't have an established university teaching school that can set the standard of care for the community.

A university brings an intellectual focus that can stimulate innovation and the creation of cutting edge medical care.

This may not be important for the mundane "common cold," but becomes important for more complicated diagnoses and treatments.

It is surprising that s city of Las Vegas's size and stature has such a poor medical infrastructure. Fortunately, things are slowly getting better.

We have a University medical center who routinely discharges patients with chronic kidney disease, in need of dialysis, where the patients are given a list of nephrologists in the city to contact to make arrangements for outpatient dialysis. My tax dollars at work......

It could very well be a poor scan. Even if there is a nodule it could very well be benign. The troubling thing is that your doctor couldn't be bothered to refer you to a pulmonary specialist. In many cases the doctor will just follow up with scans to see if there is any change in the size of the nodule(s). Try not to be consumed with worry but do insist on a referral to a specialist.
