I'm contingent on a short sale in this neighborhood located on Cheyenne between Cimmarron <sp> and Soaring Gulls. Is this a quiet, nice area? I looked on the crime maps and didn't see anything disturbing. Anyone that lives in or near this area that can kind of give me the real deal on the area. Thanks!

So long as it's not those Desert Shore Condo conversions, then you should be OK. Conveniences are very close by, Albertsons, gas station, banks, Einsteins bagels, Cook on Wok (great Chinese food) CVS..etc., etc..

Ditto on the condos, but if it's a house, go for it. Nice area. The sound of Nikes on the sidewalks every two minutes might bother you though, as everyone in Desert Shores is into running and walking. That's unusual for most Las Vegas neighborhoods. You'll love it.

Thanks for the quick responses, but Spinnaker is north of Cheyenne, these are homes. Desert shores is south of Cheyenne I think. It seemed like a quiet area when I checked out the house. It is convenient to a lot of places. It's a mature neighborhood, houses built in the mid 90's. It's aged well, I just hope it stays that way.

It's part of North Shores. There is South Shores, Desert Shores, and North Shores. There is a street called Spinnaker Cove in Desert Shores. Still a good area on either side of Soaring Balls (OK, Gulls), until you get north of Gowan, which isn't all that bad either, but not quite as nice. Some apartments off of Durango that add congestion. Lots of teenagers in the area, plus two or three schools. A few of us live nearby. It is a pretty convenient area of town. I don't know if North Shores has any resident privileges in Desert Shores, but it's nice to have it in the neighborhood anyway. Depending on how close it is to Cheyenne, it could get traffic noise. In Las Vegas, never buy a house that backs onto any street, and stay as far away from the main drags as possible.

Nice and decent area, I have a family residing in the 89129 zip code. Convenient location, if you're heading anywhere near Downtown or the Strip, the area is near the 95 freeway with the 215 beltway around 3 miles West on Cheyenne There are also many parks on that side of town.
