I will be relocating to the Las Vegas, NV area, and I am wondering what hidden fees or stipulations I should expect if I decide to go with Cox? I am interested in their Internet Preferred Package ($19.99 for 6 months, $53.99 afterwards). Do they have cancellation/termination fees? I talked to a rep and they claimed that there is no term to the contract. Can I really cancel anytime? If I decide to purchase their modem/router, there should be no leasing fee in regards to those items.

Thanks in advance.

The no contract thing with COX is legit.
You can 100% cancel whenever you want.
Other than that, there ain't too much good to say about them.
Not for TV anyway.
They'll get you over a barrel with their super dooper high speed internet though.

Does anybody have an opinion on Cox internet service? My experience has been that cable internet is far superior to DSL. I don't know anything about Cox but assume it will be far better than the telco.

I have no problem with the telco (CenturyLink) internet service, except that they don't allow me to purchase my own modem. I haven't had Cox internet though, so I can't compare the two. As far as TV, I have DirecTV and like their HD. I've seen Cox HD at many friend's houses and my personal opinion is that it looks awful comparatively. I'd use DirecTV, Dish Network or even Prism for HD before Cox. Just my $0.02 though.

We have had Cox for two years and have had zero issues, other than two price increases.

As far as I know Cox rules the cable roost. There are different companies out there. Most offer dish and satellite services. You're better off checking with a
digital services broker to find out what is currently on offer and who offers the best of what.
