It will be fun watching my two month old pick up cans

I know the thieves are likely just carting the aluminum and plastic over to CA for the deposit money. So if it's getting recycled I guess I am fine with it. But it still bothers me on some level. Should I really care about this? Is it a crime?
It's illegal for them to be dumpster diving, but some people are trying to just eat, I wouldn't get offended at all.

If your worried about them making a mess then put all the cans and glass in a separated bag with a note on it. If not once its on the street I think that is pretty much open to the public.

Mine aren't just taking cans and bottles - they actually took my entire paper recycle bin! It's just missing!!! This DOES concern me because it's mail items, paid bills, etc., too! I stopped recycling paper at all now because of it. First, no bin, and don't want this happening any longer.

I would never put anything into my paper recycling that even has so much as my address on it without shredding it first.

Good point worth repeating: shred anything with any level of sensitive data. I may be a bit paranoid about it, but I shred anything with a signature line (even spammy credit card offers), anything with my kids' names, anything from a company I do business with.
