Looking for a go to guy I can pay monthly.

I'm overseas way too much. Can't take care of things at the house.
Right now I need weeds pulled (HOA citation) and something keeping the garage door from closing. Sensor maybe.
I was leaving for the airport so had to just close it manually.

Instead of calling a diff. person everytime, handyman, painter, plumber, gardener. Anyone care to share a good referral?

Yard is stone scape, NW Vegas. Front area is really tiny. Rear isn't all that big either, all on drip system. I was thinkin' around $60 a month just for the yard maintenance, what's the norm? Negotiate any other work as we go.

House has security cameras inside with net feeds.

you pay monthly HOA fees so HOA can fine you. What else does your HOA do?

In my association they pay for security, gates, sidewalk maintenance, jogging trail, 3 mini parks, common grounds, common lighting, common electricity, common water, reslurry the roads every 5 years, liability insurance on the common property, repairs, common ground plants and landscape maintenance.

They have a comprehensive list of what is replaced and when. Every HOA is required to send you their approved budget annually, so it shouldn't be a mystery to literate homeowners. Some other intangibles are architectural cohesiveness and a clean neighborhood through rule enforcement.

Sheesh I hate HOAs!

You're right, I met Bill this morning and he seems like a great guy.

Because of your post, I checked him out on Angie's List and he had an "A" rating, albeit based on only one report. I also noticed that he had numerous positive reviews on the Google site. Consequently, I called him this morning and he came right out to take a look at my yard and give me a quote for biweekly service, which turned out to be $150/month. Although that may seem high, keep in mind that my yard is completely filled with various plants, shrubs and numerous (20+) trees (mostly palm). Also, my previous landscaper, whom I discontinued using last year, had been charging me $279/month, so the $150 is quite a bit cheaper.
