Is there anywhere to go out at the lake that is good for hiking / dog walking? Not too crowded so we can let the dogs run? Right now we go to Red Rock - looking for something different.

Thanks!

There are hiking trails all over the place out there, and there are a lot of local hiking books available, besides what you can find on Google, to tell you all about each trail. Just be careful as there are snakes, and dogs and snakes don't mix. You might want to buy booties for them also, due to thorns. Many desert plants have them ...thorns, not boots. Valley of Fire is a good place to hike with dogs, as is Mt. Chas., after the snow melts. Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs has a lot of room to hike. You could let them off the leash in the desert part of the park, but not around the lakes. Bootleg Canyon in Boulder City has a lot of good trails too, but watch for mountain bikers. There are also dog hiking groups around. The Sierra Club has dog hikes sometimes. Google is your friend.
