We have an offer to buy our home. It is a short sell, however, my husband makes good money. The job is out of state. We want to know if anyone has had luck with the bank approving of a sale at market value if the seller has a good job? Does an attorney really help?

Doesn't sound like a "hardship" to me.

I think, she means its a "fast sale" and not a "short sale"

Tracy, a "short sale" is where the owner of the house is paying more in mortgage then what the house is worth, and they make a deal to the bank to sell it "short" (for less money) and settle the mortgage that the person cannot afford, (before the place end up being foreclosed on).

I am a layman, so I am sure I am leaving out details.. But that's the gist

Jonathan

She means a short sale. The need to move for employment may well be considered a hard ship...

The way to tell is proceed. If they don't grant it there is always foreclosure. Make it clear you need to move if you do.

Worst case let them foreclose. But work the short sale hard before you do that. Don't quit after one turn down. Push it three or four times before you give up.

And offer to throw in some money if you possible can. Sometimes works wonders. Or at least they tell you what they will tale.
