Video Poker is TIGHTLY regulated scenario/game in which the casino property CAN NOT alter the Algorithm/RNG(Random Numeric Generator) to increase a casino's edge.

The only thing a casino property can do in this game is to change the payout schedule to pay less in a cases of a win or to change the payout odds in relation to the bet amount. this is why if you play VP, it is critical that you need Hunt for the highest paying machines in order to maximize your ROI(Return on Investment)... they are out there but you need to find them in the room. there is nothing different(in terms of play or hand odds) between a machine that pays 6/5 and a machine that pays 9/6 except how much you can earn on a ROI basis.

Obviously a Lower payout machine will have a higher ROR (Rate of Ruin) ratio but in the end, all these machines only come close to break even... they still have a negative expectation of about .4 on the low end($99.6 for every $1). However, players always seem to tout the positive EV(expected Value) VP when Comps are added back into the equation... which I personally do not imply.

I'm a table games dealer so I have to vote for the tables for job security . I do have a laugh when someone walks over to one of the tables I'm working on and complains to me that the video roulette, craps etc.... machine ripped them off. Happens all the time and I have to get the floor to call someone who can actually go look at the machine. At least when I make a mistake dealing the game I just fix it right there on the spot. A machine can't fix itself.

I play live poker. It's probably the lowest cost gambling (from money going to the house perspective) you'll find in any casino. You just have to be good enough to beat the other players.

The rake in Vegas is pretty reasonable, I'd rather pay the rake in poker, than the fig on house banked games.

Of course, but its a common money management mistake not to consider the rake when picking a poker game. It's more of a consideration for limit players.

Autocorrect on my tablet strikes again

And the fact that this site locks down posts after a half hour means once a typo always a typo.
