Anyone work or know someone that works for any of the powersports dealerships like Carter Powersports, Motorcycle city, world motorcycles, ride now, ect? Or anyone work in home improvement sales i.e windows, sunrooms, granite countertops. I currently work for a granite countertop company and I have experience in all of the above catagories, I was just wondering if anyone is in these fields and how they are doing out in LV. These positions pay very well here, not so much reps at powersports dealers, but any type of home improvement sales especially sunrooms makes big bucks here. I am flexible and would not need to work in these fields if there were no opportunity, but I'd like to kind of know what to expect. I dont know if I could do auto/car sales but what do you think?

I worked for carter (sales) for two weeks when I first moved here. Nice place, nice folks but way too many reps, no up system, no way to make any real money.

Did you ever figure out how much you would have brought home?

The top guys are making 60-75K, so they say. It's a straight commission only position. But to be honest I more left for two reasons:

1) I came from a corporate B2B sales environment and standing around like a vulture for 8 hours waiting for customers was not my cup of tee.

2) I was filling time and testing the waters until my EMT cert's transfered over to get a position doing that, which I did.

I wasn't there long enough to determine what I would've made but you need to sell at least 30+ bikes a month to even get going.

Like most sales jobs I only see a rep being successful after building a book of business. Come backs, referrals etc.

No doubt, and 60-75k isn't bad for flinging bikes and atv's, you wont make that here. I was under the impression that some of the dealerships offered a salary, but that may be the Ridenow network?
