Looking for an honest one in the area. We bought a home from a flipper who selected a sleezy A/C guy, who put a 20 year old compressor (minus serial numbers) on our 6 year old home prior to purchase. The compressor has blown, home warranty company will not cover since no serial number appears, and the contractor will not return calls, even though he issued a warranty on his work. We are instigating a lawsuit, but we still want to find an honest guy to do the work. Thank you for any input!!

Sounds like a good reason to spring for a home inspection before signing anything.

We used Comfort Masters. Good customer service. We got to Vegas June 5th and it was 110* no A/C. This was a Saturday. We called and got the answering service which scheduled an appointment for Monday morning. Paul called us back and was there with in an hour. He said we had a leak in the system and charged the system to get us through the weekend knowing it would all leak out. He credited us the amount we paid when he came out to make the repair.

Chazell is good - I have direct experience with them. A few years ago I had them replace two air handlers, and one heat pump on my Las Vegas home. I did this as a cost savings measure, the equipment was actually fully functional, but nearing 20 years old, and I replaced it with much more energy efficient units which have saved me several hundred dollars per year off my electricity bill since the replacement. Another contractor (can't recall their name) gave me a quote for over 2x theirs ($17k vs around $7k), using almost identical equipment.

I can recommend Dr. Cool. Our AC went out at 10 am and they had someone there by 3. They were reasonable and the guy was very honest. The switch went out and he didn't try to tell us it was anything major or jack up the price. We would definitly call them again.

That's why in any kind of non-trivial repair when buying a house, I always get my own reputable quote and ask for that amount to be deducted from the selling price since the seller has no incentive to get it done right, only cheap.

Sorry to hear though, hope it's an inexpensive fix to get it going again.
