We're coming in for a visit this weekend and per my previous post- people recommended to check out West Town Mall and Turkey Creek for some good shopping. We'd like to stay in a hotel in this area... any recommendations?

Hmmmmm, nothing comes right to mind. If no one has responded, I'll look when travel through tomorrow.

If you're coming to check out Knoxville, please make sure to see more than West Knox. There are many beautiful areas in downtown and North Knox / Fountain City.

oh yes, we definitely plan on seeing more than West Knox- we just want to stay close to the shopping. We're planning on also visiting Powell & Halls areas, Fountain City, Maryville, and of course we're going to check out downtown as well. I'd love to hear any suggestions for other areas to visit while we're in town!

First one that comes to mind is the Ho-Jo right across the street from the West Town Mall. There are lots of others but, of course, I can't think of any right now. Check out yellowpages.com and see what you come up with. Have a good trip. (PS-I WILL NEVER go to Turkey Creek again; West Town is ok but I actually like the east mall better; can't remember the name...I'm fairly new here myself.) Have a good trip.

When we were checking out the area, we stayed at the Best Western on North Peters Rd. Clean, quiet, and convenient to everywhere we wanted to go.

If you like shopping, you'll love Turkey Creek. Try Mimi's Cafe for breakfast or lunch.

Safe and happy trip!

That's funny. I couldn't think of a particular hotel, so I didn't write anything. But I thought to myself, "As long as they don't stay at the HoJo's across from the mall, the will be okay."

On tripadvisor, HoHo's has a a HORRIBLE recommendation.

We were just down there checking things out last weekend. There are 2 new (within 2 years) hotels in Turkey Creek - Homewood Suites (by Hilton) and SpringHill Suites (by Mariott). Both are next door to each other and looked pretty similar. We stayed at Homewood and our room was great - the newness makes a difference. The only problem I could see was that they are both right on the highway so noise could be an issue if you have a room on that side of the hotel. Oh and SpringHill is all non-smoking but Homewood has a few smoking rooms which reek big-time.

The easiest way to get to West Town Mall from Turkey Creek is to get back on the Interstate (eastbound) and get off at exit 380.

Or you can also get back onto Kingston Pike (turn left coming out of the Turkey Creek Complex, then left again onto Kingston) and drive, drive, drive until you come upon it.... it's right before KMart on the right hand side.

Which way you turn coming out of Turkey Creek will depend on which end of the complex you leave by.

If you're coming out onto Lovell Rd., take a right onto Lovell Rd., then a left onto Kingston Pike.

If you come out onto Campbell Station Rd., then take a left and a left when you get to Kingston.

Just wanted to clarify - we did a lot of aimless wandering around (not that we were LOST or anything ) on our first trip down.
