I lived in Southwest Florida for ten years. If you are originally from the north then the answer is not much. Usually, we get a dusting that immediately melts. I've been here eight years and the most I've seen is 3 inches and that was for the entire year.

But if you are originally from Florida then the answer is...tons.

Another benefit of being in Knoxville, lack of snow! I like snow, just not deep snow that is problem causing. Dustings are welcome by me though, theyre pretty.

My husband and I just moved to the Maryville, Greenback area this month and we love it. It's safe, people are so so friendly. Traffic is not bad at all everything is easy to find. If you move to this area you won't regret it. Mountain views from a lot of places. Just a short drive to the mountains. I wish we would have moved here a long time ago.

My wife and I (young 30s) are also considering this area. Currently live in Nj. She is a nurse, I have my own small mechanical engineering business... So good schools for our children, nursing work for my wife, and a pool of highly skilled engineers/machinist's are very important to us. We love how nice the people are, up here in nj everything is rushed, so expensive and taxes are insane (especially for me being self enjoyed). Could a 100k per year family income give you a good life down there?

I relocated to Maryville from Florida, for my work. It's a quaint little city, that has your general chain stores and such. The housing is affordable compared to Florida. However, there is no culture here. A lot of people seem to be very closed minded and arrogant in their ways. There aren't many independent food places, unless its very unhealthy greased up pork, etc. Unhealthy eating and obesity is the norm here. The traffic is also very bad around the city, especially from 3pm-7pm. I like the affordable housing and convenience, but strangely Maryville will suck the life out of you if you like being around more vibrant places and people.

No problem, just put in a transfer request to leave, "quaint little Maryville." Much easier than having to make an "attitude adjustment" to hang around the area.
